A spokesperson announced on Saturday that the U.S. Navy has dispatched a guided-missile submarine capable of holding over 100 missiles to the Middle East. The USS Florida entered the Middle East on April 6 and began passing through the Suez Canal the following day, according to Commander Timothy Hawkins. He emphasized that the submarine is capable of carrying Tomahawk missiles. The USS Florida is a nuclear-powered guided-missile submarine that can hold up to 154 Tomahawk land-attack cruise missiles, and it has been deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet to support the region’s maritime safety and stability.
