Crews searching for a tourist submarine that went missing while exploring the Titanic shipwreck have detected underwater noises in the search area. The U.S. Coast Guard announced that Canadian P-3 aircraft picked up the noises, prompting remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to be relocated for further investigation. However, the ROV searches have not yielded any results so far. The data from the aircraft has also been shared with U.S. Navy experts for analysis. According to internal emails obtained by Rolling Stone, the Canadian aircraft detected banging noises every 30 minutes. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre is working to find an underwater remote-operated vehicle for assistance. The missing passengers have been identified, and there is cause for hope based on data from the field. OceanGate Expeditions, the operator of the submersible, is now facing scrutiny due to a previous lawsuit filed by an employee who raised safety concerns. The company claims that the missing sub was completed in 2020–2021 and is not the same one mentioned in the lawsuit.
