Police Scotland has refused to release information about its investigations and incidents attended at a Glasgow restaurant which has been identified by human rights group Safeguard Defenders as an overseas Chinese police bureau. The group also identified two London hubs as foreign “police” bases for China. Safeguard Defenders claimed that the premises are intended to force Chinese citizens into returning to China or to clamp down on dissent against the Communist Party. In a lengthy response to The Epoch Times, Police Scotland claimed that releasing information on the premises would be “detrimental to public safety.” The Metropolitan Police made a similar statement. The Epoch Times has requested an internal review of both police forces’ decisions.
