Daniel Suidani, a former premier of Malaita Province in Solomon Islands, was removed from office for opposing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its interference in the country’s affairs. He warns that countries should be cautious when dealing with communist regimes as they have different values and principles from the rest of the world. As an atheist ideology, communism doesn’t believe in God, which can create conflicts when making friendships or engaging in activities with CCP members. Suidani’s communique, called the “Auki Communique,” aimed to defend against CCP interference and uphold Malaitan people’s rights and freedoms, including the belief in God, while refusing collaboration with CCP organizations. Suidani’s efforts to protect Malaita’s resources and sovereignty led to his removal from office in a hostile vote in February 2023. The CCP’s interference in the country is also reflected in Canada, and Suidani urges people globally to unite and resist the Chinese regime’s disruptive efforts towards democratic societies.
