A recent Leger survey revealed that Albertans want re-elected Premier Danielle Smith to focus on improving healthcare, making life more affordable, and advocating for the province while standing up to Ottawa. The online survey included over 1,000 respondents and found that health care and cost-of-living issues were the top two areas of concern for Albertans. Economic issues like growing the economy and diversifying it were also priorities for many of the survey respondents. When it came to provincial-federal relations, 47 percent of the respondents agreed that Smith should push back strongly against the federal government while 40 percent said she should be less combative and more collaborative. The survey also highlighted divergent views among voters of different political parties, with NDP voters prioritizing healthcare and climate change, while UCP voters placed more emphasis on growing the oil and gas sector and reducing provincial debt.
