The identities of 29 individuals who perished in a fire at Beijing Changfeng Hospital’s inpatient department on April 18th have been kept hidden by the authorities. The blaze, which was started by sparks during construction work, resulted in 26 patients losing their lives, as well as a nurse, a caretaker, and a patient’s relative. A further 39 people were wounded, with three in a critical condition and 18 in severe condition. According to the police, 12 people have been arrested in connection with the fire, including the hospital’s president and vice president, as well as the head of the construction company.
