Hydro-Québec is busy repairing its energy grid after a fatal ice storm in Quebec last week, with over 115,000 customers still without power. The largest number of outages is in the Montreal area, leaving 82,000 in darkness. Hydro-Québec has flagged that some of these areas are hard to reach or have more complex issues, which is slowing down the repairs. In response, the Quebec government has permitted some grocery stores to remain open during Easter Sunday in six badly hit regions; Montreal, Monteregie, Laval, Outaouais, Laurentides, and Lanaudiere. Over a million people were affected by the outage at the height of the storm, which is believed to have caused three deaths across southern Quebec and eastern Ontario.
