According to Ukrainian military officials, Russia conducted a drone attack on Kyiv and its surrounding region after a 12-day break. The country’s air defense systems successfully destroyed all the weapons during the attack, including eight Iranian-made Shahed drones and three cruise missiles, which were shot down.
Colonel General Serhiy Popko, who heads Kyiv’s military administration, commented on the attack through a post on the Telegram channel, referring to it as “Another enemy attack on Kyiv.”
In the Kyiv region, three private houses were damaged as a result of falling drone debris, causing one person to be injured. Ruslan Kravchenko, the military head of the region, shared this information on his Facebook page. Witnesses reported hearing blasts resembling the sound of air defense systems hitting targets, but the scale of the attack is currently unknown.
Starting from 2 a.m. local time (2300 GMT), Kyiv, its surrounding region, and several central and eastern regions of Ukraine were under air raid alerts for approximately one hour.
