A German court has chosen not to hear a case against a man who is suspected in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and also faces sex offenses charges. The court argued that it is not responsible for the case, as the region in which it is located is not the suspect’s last place of residence in Germany. The suspect, identified as Christian Brueckner, has not been charged in the McCann case but is under investigation for murder. He is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence in Germany for a rape he committed in Portugal in 2005. The court’s decision can be appealed, and prosecutors are expected to appeal.
