Dr. Flavio Cadegiani, a respected scientist in Brazil specializing in endocrinology and sports medicine, has faced scrutiny from various authorities and organizations in the country. Despite his significant contributions to COVID-19 research, which include 25 peer-reviewed papers and a groundbreaking study on the effectiveness of proxalutamide as a treatment, these entities focused solely on charging him rather than acknowledging the lives he has saved.
According to Dr. Cadegiani, the pharmaceutical companies promoting vaccines and expensive drugs as treatments do not possess any genuinely effective molecules. His research findings, however, caught the attention of the former Brazilian president, leading to his vilification and being labeled as “anti-science.” This vilification subjected him to investigations, but eventually, he received unanimous exoneration from the Brazilian medical boards regarding any wrongdoing in his clinical trials.
Once a person who dismissed conspiracy theories, Dr. Cadegiani now acknowledges the existence of elements he previously believed were nonexistent. He attributes the smear campaign against him to “sciencesplaining,” where individuals lacking expertise in the scientific method attempt to lecture esteemed practitioners like himself about what qualifies as “science.”
Dr. Cadegiani questions when the system went too far, suggesting that the COVID-19 pandemic was a clear example of this excessive restriction.
