A few bold and ethically courageous doctors in British Columbia have expressed concerns about the potential harms associated with local COVID-19 policies. However, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia has censured these doctors for going against the imposed standards under the Health Professions Act and suggesting unorthodox ideas. Specifically, Dr. Hoffe was one of the first doctors to receive censure from the college. He was accused of uttering several heresies, including the suggestion that mRNA COVID-19 genetic vaccines may cause microscopic blood clots, vaccinated persons can cause harm to unvaccinated persons, and ivermectin is an advisable treatment for COVID-19. Despite the mounting evidence against Public Health authorities’ COVID-19 policies, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. is punishing these doctors for publicly expressing their concerns. British Columbians who share these concerns view the college’s actions as arbitrary, vindictive, and against the public interest. Moreover, the college’s punitive measures are contrary to the Canadian concept of law, as citizens cannot be stripped of the ability to answer accusations. The misinformation provided by the public health authorities has led to vaccine hesitancy and further confusion, with concerns about vaccine safety and efficacy on the rise. The mRNA COVID-19 genetic vaccines do not prevent infection or transmission, and their adverse event reporting systems show higher rates of mortality than any other vaccines in history. Therefore, it’s crucial for the college to acknowledge the vaccine’s dangers and inform the public about them instead of punishing doctors who speak out.
