President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have agreed on a new economic partnership to strengthen the ties between their nations and tackle the challenges of an ever-changing world. The agreement, known as the Atlantic Declaration, aims to equip their economic partnership for the 21st century by enhancing cooperation in areas such as clean energy transition, emerging technologies, national security and critical mineral supply chains. In addition, the two leaders agreed to work together to combat sanctions evasion, supply chain crises, outbound investments and exports to countries of concern. They will also establish a critical minerals agreement to support the development of a clean energy economy. The bilateral meeting also touched on the conflict in Ukraine, with both leaders reiterating their support for democracy and freedom in the country. The question of who will become NATO Secretary General was also discussed, with Sunak lobbying for Ben Wallace to be supported by NATO allies.
