Just prior to World Refugee Day, a total of 41 companies have collectively vowed to offer employment and training opportunities to over 250,000 refugees in Europe within the next three years. This commitment, unveiled at the Tent European Business Summit in Paris by the Tent Partnership for Refugees, marks the largest-ever set of business commitments aimed at promoting the economic integration of refugees. Last year, the organization’s inaugural summit in the United States resulted in pledges to hire 22,725 refugees. Well-known brands such as Hilton, Marriott International, and Teleperformance have committed to employing 13,680 refugees. On Monday, Amazon, one of the largest companies involved, announced that it would be hiring at least 5,000 refugees, while Accenture, Indeed, and Microsoft have committed to training around 86,000 refugees. Staffing firms have also pledged to connect approximately 152,000 refugees to employment across Europe. The pledges made on Monday represent the most significant collective commitment in the history of the Tent Partnership, which was established in 2016.
