Canterbury prop Ryan Sutton has been given the all-clear from a serious neck injury after being hospitalized following his team’s NRL victory against South Sydney. Sutton sustained severe neck pain after a tackle from Rabbitohs winger Taane Milne, leading him to leave the field on a medicab during the 36-32 win. Milne received a grade-one careless high contact charge and a $3,000 fine, avoiding suspension. Fortunately, Sutton was found to have no neck fracture or concussion, although he will undergo further scans to assess potential nerve damage. Bulldogs’ football manager Phil Gould tweeted that Sutton experienced persistent neck spasms on the field, prompting caution from the medical staff. Sutton is now at home and in good spirits.
