The Marxist ideology has been proven to result in oppression and economic stagnation wherever it has been practiced in government. The millions of martyrs and those who suffered from unnecessary starvation bear witness to this fact. Countries such as the USSR, China, Cuba, Vietnam, North Korea, and Venezuela have all failed to provide the freedom and economic prosperity enjoyed in the West. This outcome can be attributed to the stifling of individual freedom, which ultimately stifles society as a whole. Despite these clear consequences, acceptance of this oppressive ideology blinds many to its nefarious influence.
Former President Ronald Reagan had observed the birth and subsequent death of communism, particularly referring to the Soviet Union. However, his declaration of communism’s demise was premature and failed to consider the changing tactics of Marxist influence. Recognizing that the workers’ revolution was unlikely to occur due to their improving conditions, Marxists shifted their focus to infiltrating institutions. This has resulted in the indoctrination-focused education system, the corrosive influence of the Black Lives Matter movement, and attempts to destroy the family unit. The devastating impacts of Marxist ideology have affected millions of people worldwide.
Former Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott, has courageously called out the nefarious influence of Marxism. He provides a reality check to leaders who blindly adopt Marxist rhetoric and unwittingly implement its agenda. The infiltration of Marxism into our institutions, as seen in woke business leaders and sports officials, must be halted before it is too late. Although the creep of Marxism appears to be accelerating, it is still possible to prevent its further permeation in our society.
Once the spread of Marxism has been stopped, the focus must shift towards returning to the principles of freedom and the virtues that have contributed to our success thus far. Leaders such as Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor, who reverts to Menzian principles, and Peter Dutton, who highlights the virtue of equality, are acting with courage and grit to remind us of lasting and tried virtues that have proven successful. Recognizing a problem is the first step in overcoming it, and Tony Abbott has done so with great force and insight.
In recent times, many Liberals, business leaders, and sporting identities have become the “useful idiots” of Marxist elements. Their pursuit of popularity and acceptance in certain quarters has led them to prioritize their own careers over their duty to country and society. True leadership requires calling things out for what they are, and the new Coalition leadership in Australia seems willing to do just that.
The founding principles of Australia’s most successful political party, the Liberal Party, emphasized opposition to autocracy, be it communist or fascist. However, leaders have turned a blind eye to corrosive concepts such as the Safe Schools program, which promotes Marxist ideas. Similarly, with the Indigenous Voice to Parliament campaign, well-meaning individuals ignore the Marxist influence behind the proposal and claim there is nothing to be concerned about.
The Marxist influence poses a threat to individuals, societal institutions, and economic well-being. The timeless values of freedom of thought, expression, religion, and the spirit of the individual must be advocated to challenge this influence. The rule of law is often disregarded in the name of alleged empathy for victims. The erosion of virtues and values that have made the West prosperous is occurring from within, fueled by forces committed to overthrowing the very society that allowed them to flourish.
With Tony Abbott’s warning about the threat of Marxism and the Coalition’s embrace of liberty and true equality, Australia may finally be waking up from its slumber. Marxist forces have gained ground undeservingly, and it is time to re-embrace traditional values. These values have proven their worth and should not be forsaken for Marxist experimentation that has already devastated many lives.
