A chef from Canada is being accused of selling “suicide kits” to vulnerable individuals online and is allegedly linked to multiple Australians who took their own lives. Kenneth Law, aged 57, is facing multiple charges and is being investigated by international agencies from Australia, Britain, the U.S., Italy, New Zealand, and Canada. According to reports, Law sent at least 10 packages containing a lethal substance to Australia, resulting in deaths. He has been linked to up to 20 deaths across the world, including 13 UK residents and one U.S. teenager. Law’s arrest and prosecution came after he admitted to a British reporter that many of his customers were dead. The substance, sodium nitrite, commonly used in commercial food preparation, is not prohibited for import, but its use for suicide can be grounds for border force officials to stop it. Law’s case has been brought to light, and authorities are urging individuals who feel vulnerable to reach out to organizations such as Beyondblue, Kids Helpline, and Lifeline.
