Len Goodman, well-known head judge of the popular TV shows “Dancing with the Stars” and “Strictly Come Dancing,” passed away at 78 years old on April 22 at a hospice located in southeastern England. His agent confirmed the sad news on Monday, with his manager sharing a statement noting that he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Goodman had been struggling with bone cancer, and underwent surgery for cancer twice in the past. He had also been diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009, which was treated successfully. Goodman had served as head judge on the BBC One dance competition Strictly for more than ten years and found success on the American version of the show as well. His dear friend and partner of 19 years on Strictly, Bruno Tonioli, expressed his heartbreak over the news, claiming that there will never be anyone like him. Goodman will be remembered for his contributions to television, including presenting BBC radio programs, making TV documentaries, and his famous catchphrase, “pickle me walnuts.” The much-loved Len Goodman is survived by his wife, Sue Goodman, and his son, James William Goodman.
