A pickup truck was driven into pedestrians in Tel Aviv by a Palestinian terrorist, followed by a stabbing rampage that left eight people wounded. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it was in retaliation for an Israeli operation in the West Bank. Five of the victims were in serious condition, with one potentially being a pregnant woman. The assailant, a 20-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank, was killed by an armed civilian. He had entered Israel without a permit and had no previous security offenses. The attack occurred while over 1,000 Israeli troops were involved in an operation against Palestinian terrorists in the Jenin refugee camp. CCTV footage showed the truck speeding onto the pavement, hitting multiple people, followed by the driver exiting through the window and attacking others with a knife. Witnesses described the chaotic scene and how they had to flee for their lives. Israel’s police minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, visited the scene and reiterated his call for citizens to carry weapons for self-defense against such street attacks.
