The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 in mainland China has significantly increased since April, indicating a resurgence of the virus.
Prior to this resurgence, there were mass infections and deaths from COVID-19 between December and January.
On June 21, a resident of Pudong, Shanghai, shared with The Epoch Times that his father had recently died from a COVID-19 infection, resulting in white lungs.
Other individuals have reported illness, deaths, and reinfections among their family members.
A doctor named Dr. Bai from Beijing Anzhen Hospital posted on Chinese social media about being reinfected with COVID-19, along with the department director who was experiencing severe symptoms. They were both infected by patients.
A resident of Fuzhou named A. Liang informed The Epoch Times that the new wave of infections in the city has been serious in the past month. Many people around him have been infected, although the symptoms are not as severe as in the first wave.
A doctor named Li Yu from Jiamusi City in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang stated that many people have been reinfected with COVID-19 and hospitalized. Some elderly individuals have died after being infected.
A woman named Wang Yi from Nantong, in the eastern province of Jiangsu, was infected with the virus for the first time. She experienced severe symptoms and had not fully recovered after more than 20 days. She expressed uncertainty about how she got infected.
Ms. Liao from Suzhou city in Jiangsu Province tested positive for COVID-19 on June 12 and has been suffering from severe symptoms such as fever, dizziness, nausea, and pneumonia.
A doctor named Dr. Yu from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine shared an online article indicating an increased number of patients visiting fever clinics across the country. He explained that individuals with low immunity, older age, or serious underlying diseases are more susceptible to infection and the development of pneumonia.
In May, China’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported 2,777 severe cases and 164 deaths from COVID-19. All the cases were caused by the Omicron mutant strains XBB.1.9, XBB.1.16, and XBB.1.5.
The Chinese communist regime has consistently concealed the true scale of the COVID-19 outbreak, making it unclear how many people have been infected in this new surge.
Zhong Nanshan, the communist regime’s top health advisor, predicts a peak of infections at the end of June, potentially resulting in as many as 65 million people infected weekly.
