A Nov. 28 report by the National Citizens Inquiry (NCI) in Canada detailed how the government and media spread fear amongst citizens about the COVID-19 pandemic while taking irresponsible, unscientific, and anti-human-rights measures. According to the 5,000-page report, this collaboration between the government and industry led to the spread of false narratives.
During the pandemic, the Canadian government and provincial governments, along with the mainstream media, took measures to propagate fear and force citizens into taking vaccines. This led to an environment where the concept of “my body, my choice” vanished, and citizens were led to believe that COVID-19 vaccines were safe and effective. Those who hesitated to get vaccinated were stigmatized and publicly shamed.
The media played a significant role in shaping the public perception of the pandemic, and the government used emotionally charged language to impose the narrative they wanted the public to believe. The NCI report also points out the peaceful demonstrations by Canadian truckers, called the Freedom Convoy, and how the movement was framed in a negative light through mainstream media.
The report also mentions how coercion was used to force people to get vaccinated through workplace mandates, students being denied access to classes for not being vaccinated, vaccine mandates for domestic and international travel, and more. The report also recommended a full judicial investigation into the authorization process under which the COVID-19 vaccines were approved. Supporters believe that the information presented during the inquiry provides irrefutable evidence of a devastating and unprecedented attack against the Canadian people.
