US falls behind China in military ship development. 1

According to Grant Newsham, a veteran intelligence officer and author, China’s military ship production is surpassing that of the United States. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro has also expressed concerns, stating that China is producing warships at a higher pace than the U.S., putting American naval supremacy at risk. China currently has approximately 340 ships and plans to add 100 more by 2030, not including their coast guard ships and maritime militia. In comparison, the U.S. has around 295 ships. Newsham warns that China’s shipbuilding capacity is much larger and that they have been launching warships at a rate of five to one over the last decade.

Newsham also notes that China has been waging a multifaceted war against the U.S. for decades, such as with the COVID-19 epidemic and the inflow of fentanyl reportedly from China, which causes the deaths of around 70,000 Americans every year. He also highlighted China’s economic warfare by eliminating over 3 million manufacturing jobs in the U.S. Additionally, China has tried to take control of international organizations and has dared the world to do something about it.

Newsham cautions the U.S. to understand China’s pressure points as they are vulnerable on the financial front. Cutting China’s access to foreign exchange would make it harder for American companies to invest in the country and could create problems for the communist regime. Therefore, understanding China’s pressure points is key to developing a counter-strategy against the country.
