The children’s mother confronted a social media personality with more than 34,000 followers on TikTok, revealing, “You can wear any mask you like, but the truth is out and everybody knows who you are, finally.” This individual is Rachel Queen Burton, a 44-year-old residing in Coolalinga, Northern Territory, who has pleaded guilty to multiple child sexual abuse charges.
Burton, who presented herself online as a “proud transgender woman,” was found to have committed sexual abuse on two young children and caused emotional trauma to another. His crimes took place in 2019 in regional South Australia before he gained popularity on TikTok. Initially denying the allegations, Burton later admitted to producing and possessing child exploitation material, committing gross indecency, and indecent assault.
Following his offenses, Burton started identifying as a female and attracted a large following on TikTok. The children’s mother and her family fled after learning of his behavior, but they were stalked and faced homelessness due to Burton’s actions.
During a hearing in the Adelaide District Court, the two child victims and their mother read impact statements on Feb. 6, vividly describing the depravity of Burton’s actions. In response to their statements, the court was told that the victims experienced relentless fear and psychological torment, resulting in ongoing nightmares.
Judge Rauf Soulio thanked the family for their statements, and Mr. Burton was remanded in custody until further sentencing submissions in April.
