On Feb. 20, 2023, people were seen wearing masks while shopping at a supermarket in Taipei, Taiwan. In response to the ongoing global pandemic, Taiwan has implemented a mask mandate indoors and on public transit. However, on Monday, the Central Epidemic Command Center announced that the mask rule will be eased in two parts. Starting in March, people will no longer need to wear masks in restaurants and offices, and schools will also see a relaxation of the rule. In December, the outdoor mask mandate was also dropped.
