A suspected gas leak at the headquarters of Sweden’s security agency in Solna forced authorities to evacuate around 500 people from the facility, according to Swedish broadcaster TV4. Seven individuals were hospitalized, but there were no reports of serious injuries. Police spokesperson Anders Bryngelsson mentioned that emergency services decided to evacuate the entire building due to the suspected gas leak, without providing further details. The mass evacuation involved several hundred employees at the workplace.
The hospitalized individuals experienced breathing problems, with some being officers who detected the gas odor upon arrival. Images from the scene depicted first responders and police officers wearing gas masks, and media reports indicated the establishment of a protective zone covering 500 meters in diameter. A helicopter was observed flying over the area, and neighbors in the vicinity of the Swedish security agency, known as SAPO, were advised to shut their windows.
