On the day of the incident, Villella, a CTV videographer, was capturing footage of a previous car crash when another car hit her while she was in the area cordoned off by police. Despite the intersection already being closed due to the previous accident, an elderly driver reportedly broke through a barricade and hit Villella. The police are currently investigating the incident with the help of eyewitness testimonies and accident reconstructionists. As of now, no charges have been filed, but the extent of the victim’s injuries will likely determine any possible future charges.
