The RCMP has reported that a single person has passed away in the aftermath of a helicopter crash close to Revelstoke, British Columbia. The helicopter, which was first declared missing on January 5, was discovered in Glacier National Park. As per the RCMP, the individual aboard the helicopter has been confirmed dead as a result of the crash. The RCMP is currently collaborating with the Transportation Safety Board and the BC Coroners Service to establish the cause of the accident.
Pedram Mohyeddin, a spokesperson for Maritime Forces Pacific, stated in an interview on January 6 that the helicopter was en route from Calgary to Sicamous, B.C., when it went missing. The province’s Joint Rescue Coordination Centre responded to an emergency locator transmitter signal about 10 nautical miles, or 18 kilometers, east of Revelstoke on January 5. Ground and aircrews were dispatched to locate the crash site.
