Queensland enforces laws to prevent tobacco and vape sales to minors. 1

New laws proposed for Queensland will no longer allow vaping in no-smoking areas and aim to crack down on tobacco chop shops that sell illegal tobacco and vapes to children. The new licensing scheme seeks to regulate and license legitimate small businesses while banning children from designated smoking areas in pubs, clubs, and restaurants. The move follows an inquiry into the health risks of vaping and concerns about its impact on school children. Health Minister Yvette D’Ath stresses the addictive nature of vapes and their hidden nicotine content, as well as their use of additives such as antifreeze and carcinogens. There are also federal efforts to tighten regulation on vape flavors and chemicals.
