Quebec Premier François Legault, along with other politicians and opposition leaders will be visiting the small town of Amqui in eastern Quebec, where a truck plowed into pedestrians, killing two people. His visit will include a meeting with the locals and a press conference.

On Monday, a man reportedly drove a truck down the main street, hitting groups of pedestrians in what police describe as an intentional act, leaving nine people injured. Steeve Gagnon, a 38-year-old suspect, has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death, and more charges are expected to follow.

Premier Legault expressed his desire to comfort the community, which has been left shaken by the tragic event. A candlelight vigil will also be held in front of the Saint-Benoît-Joseph-Labre church at 7 p.m.
