Over half the world will be overweight/obese by 2035.

A report from the World Obesity Federation reveals that over 50% of the world’s population will likely be overweight or obese by 2035, with Asia and Africa being the regions with the most affected countries. Prevention and support will need to improve to avoid the estimated annual cost of $4.35 trillion due to overweight and obesity-related problems by 2035. The report warns that if current trends continue, childhood obesity could more than double by 2035 and lower-income countries in Asia and Africa will suffer the most. By 2035, it is estimated that 208 million boys and 175 million girls will be obese.
