A man arrested in connection with the death of American ice hockey player Adam Johnson has had his bail extended, police in Sheffield, England announced on Friday. Johnson died after suffering a neck injury from a skate blade during a game on October 28. He was playing for the Nottingham Panthers against the Sheffield Steelers in the Elite Ice Hockey League. The 29-year-old American, who had previously played in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins, passed away in the hospital following the incident, which was witnessed by thousands of spectators. A man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in November, and has since been bailed by South Yorkshire Police. The force confirmed in a statement that the individual has been re-bailed until April 25, 2024.
