A man has been arrested in Nakano, Nagano prefecture, Japan, after allegedly killing four people, including two police officers. Masanori Aoki, a 31-year-old farmer and son of a local politician, was found holed up in his father’s house armed with a rifle and knife. Two police officers were shot upon arrival, while a woman was chased and stabbed by the suspect before the police car arrived. The woman and the two officers died in hospital, while an older woman was found dead near the suspect. A 300-meter radius around the house was sealed off by police, with local residents urged to stay at home. TV footage showed police wearing bulletproof vests and carrying shields during the standoff.
