According to former chief of the Asia-Pacific desk at the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), Michel Juneau-Katsuya, every Canadian prime minister in the past four decades has supposedly been compromised by agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In an interview with Canada’s CBC News, Juneau-Katsuya mentioned allegations made in a forthcoming book, “The Mosaic Effect: How the Chinese Communist Party Started a Hybrid War in America’s Backyard,” written by journalist Ina Mitchell and intelligence expert Scott McGregor, that claims the US ran a secret probe called “Operation Dragon Lord” in the 1990s into CCP activities in Canada, finding that China’s infiltration of the nation’s government posed a significant security risk to the US. Juneau-Katsuya asserted that he was aware of the US probe but claims Canadian policymakers ignored warnings from him and other intelligence officials for decades. Juneau-Katsuya stated that China’s political interference in Canadian politics had become “extremely dangerous” for Canada’s democracy as a whole, even though the concerns of the CSIS report commissioned during his time of overseeing the Asia-Pacific desk were dismissed by Canadian political leaders. As per Juneau-Katsuya, the alleged infiltration by Beijing in Canadian politics has been ongoing for the last 40 years, up to the current administration led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The Epoch Times could not verify Juneau-Katsuya’s claims.
