Human rights activist Drew Pavlou, known for his criticism of the Chinese Communist Party, is facing a court hearing over a protest he staged against Chinese leader Xi Jinping in May 2022. During the protest in the Chinese community of Eastwood in northwest Sydney, Pavlou brandished a sign with the phrase “F**k Xi Jinping” written in Mandarin, leading to a confrontation with Chinese nationals. Pavlou was arrested and charged with behaving offensively in public. Despite the ongoing challenges to his activism, Pavlou has vowed to keep fighting for free speech and for the victims of the CCP. Pavlou’s case is listed for hearing at Parramatta local court on March 15.
