Chinese balloon seen in Middle East last fall, according to air commander.

Last fall, U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East spotted a Chinese balloon floating in the region, but no attempt was made to investigate it further, Lt. Gen. Alex Grynkewich said on Monday. This incident appears to be part of the Chinese communist regime’s global airborne surveillance project. According to Grynkewich, the balloon posed no threat because it “did not go anywhere near any of our sensitive sites.” He further explained that the balloon “primarily stayed out over the water, and just transited through the region” during a roundtable discussion hosted by the Center for a New American Security.
