Chinese defector Chen Yonglin has exposed two major incidents where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was able to steal U.S. technology, resulting in major breakthroughs in its military development. During the U.S.-led NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, China sent a special plane to take back the engines of the plane and an unexploded bomb, which saved them 30 years of time to catch up with the U.S. The second incident was the Hainan Island incident in 2001, when Chinese jets collided with a U.S. surveillance plane. The Chinese pilot intentionally crashed the EP-3, and the CCP was able to take back the engine and all its information, leading to another major breakthrough.
At a panel following the screening of The Epoch Times’ investigative film, ‘The Final War—A 100-Year Plot to Defeat America’ in Sydney, U.S. Army veteran and microbiologist Dr. Sean Lin said the CCP had been waging “unrestricted warfare” against the West for decades. He believes the CCP strategically released the COVID-19 virus to severely harm society globally and push out their Chinese model of how to deal with pandemic control.
Lincoln Parker, chair of the Liberal Party’s Defence Policy branch, warned of the CCP’s ambitions in the Pacific and pointed to the situation in the Solomon Islands. In 2019, the Prime Minister decided to switch diplomatic ties from Taiwan to Beijing, and the CCP has since then struck a deal to build 161 Huawei communication towers, use their airstrips, and build a deep-water port across the Solomon Islands. Parker expressed his confusion as to why the Australian government has done very little.
