Between 1979 and 1994, three women, Gordana, Robyn Hickie, and Amanda Robinson, went missing. A former hospitality executive, who has been jailed for brutal rape and assault, is now accused of abducting another woman in 1980. An investigation into the cold case disappearances led to the discovery of this new accusation.
The man, now 62 years old, was arrested by detectives looking into the disappearances and suspected murders of Gordana, Robyn, and Amanda. The renewed investigation also uncovered information about the 1980 abduction. The alleged victim of this incident has come forward to tell police that she was taken from Gateshead in Lake Macquarie, injured by a man, but survived.
The man is now facing charges related to the 1980 abduction including forcible abduction of a woman with the intent to carnally knowledge. He is scheduled to appear in court in March. A $1 million reward remains on offer for information leading to convictions in any of the disappearances involving these three women, though despite extensive investigations, no trace of the girls has been found.
