Montreal police have launched an investigation after a man was shot and killed in the city’s Little Italy neighbourhood on the morning of February 17. Police spokesperson Véronique Dubuc stated that authorities received multiple 911 calls regarding gunshots in the area at approximately 12:15 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man on the ground with gunshot wounds to his upper body. Despite the officers’ efforts to revive him, the man was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary information suggests that one or more suspects fired at the victim from inside a vehicle before fleeing the scene. To date, no arrests have been made, and investigators and forensic technicians are currently in the process of analyzing the scene, speaking to witnesses, and reviewing nearby surveillance footage.
