As one examines the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals included in the familiar 2030 Agenda, it is easy to see that they are all worthy and attainable objectives. Few individuals would object to the reduction of poverty and hunger, or the advancement of infrastructure, innovation, and industry. However, the real danger lies in how these goals have been exploited by interventionists and bureaucrats. This has led to excessive governmental control over the economy, with farming, agriculture, and private activities coming under attack.
It becomes apparent that these interventionist politicians are working against the very essence of the 2030 Agenda. They are gradually destroying industry and contributing to a decline in competitiveness, thus enabling stagnation. Energy strategies and bureaucracy are driving the European industrial fabric to destruction, with businesses suffering the consequences of these policies. The 2030 Agenda’s objectives are being manipulated by socialists into supporting policies that have the opposite effect of what they claim to promote.
The decline in the number of farms and the agriculture sector in the European Union is alarming, with significant decreases in both anticipated in the coming years. Additionally, the industrial sector’s global market share has plummeted. To achieve the 2030 Agenda’s goals, increased capitalism and economic freedom are necessary, as socialism fails to achieve these ends.
It is not anti-European to criticize the incorrect implementation of this agenda. The aim should be to protect Europe by rejecting socialism and centralized planning and promoting individual freedom. To realize the goals of the 2030 Agenda, we need to remove these policies from the hands of socialist interventionists. There is a pressing need for Europe to have more economic freedom, stronger businesses, and predictable regulations that encourage investment. If the policies of socialist interventionism continue, they will only perpetuate poverty and eliminate personal autonomy.
